Oh, Dottie, I'm so happy to know you, even though I never met you.

Four be the things I am wiser to know:
Idleness, sorrow, a friend, and a foe.
Four be the things I'd been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
Three be the things I shall have till I die:
Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye.
-Dorothy Parker
Hello! I am researching Dorothy Parker in my english class when I stumbled into your blog post about Dorothy Parker. She is a really cool person and I really like the poem that you have posted. I love how she rhymes in her poems- I think it makes the poems so much more fun. Thanks for the poem! (the last line is my favorite!)
